Wasn't the Angel of Death boss?
Didn't you love the puppet sequence sandwiched with the Young Hellboy bookends?
Loved the look of the movie. Felt the story needed a little more kick. Maybe I'm just used to the darkness of the books.
Can you believe Seth "Family Guy" McFarlane did the voice of Johann Krauss?

Yes, if the Angel of Death was that "eyes in the wings" thingy. She and Cathedral Face were two of the reasons why I wanted to see the movie. Plus I like Hellboy.
Are you talking about the bedtime story puppets? Because yes, I totally loved that. I was fairly "eh" on the Howdy Doody parts. But the other puppets were so well done. I wonder if they were actual puppets or movie magic?
As far as the story goes... I think that I imagined a much better one via the trailers. The characters were a little too slapsticky/gaggy and I think we lost some of the contrast between Abe and Hellboy.
And yes, I could believe it was Seth MacFarlane after I heard Dr. Krauss invite Manning to suck his ectoplasmic swanstucke. Although I always imagined ectoplasm as goo, not smoke...
