Seems there's major changes on the way for Dr.Who. After the up coming season has aired, 2009 will see a series of three specials in lieu of a traditional series. The last of this trilogy of specials will air at xmas and will feature Tennant's doctor regenerate and pass the torch to a new actor. Apparently Robert Carlyle or James Nesbitt are the front runners.
Personally I prefer to see a return to the "older" doctor something akin to Derek Jacobi's pre-evil performance as the Master.

...just seen the trailer for the new series on BBC1.
It has what I take to be Sontarans. Lots of them. With guns!

After a visit to the local Woolworths, I have a tough decision to make. Is my new screwdriver to be the classic Sonic, or Laser? (after all, who'd have sonic...)

You guys still have Woolworth's? I've not seen one around here in forever.

Don't you guys have that magazine "What Screwdriver" that you can consult?

Well, I consulted my copy of "What Screwdriver", and it suggested this: http://www.instructables.com/id/S9JP94XFBJIMRBJ/
It didn't help my decision Sad

I think we should nominate the UNIT Colonel for an award:
"most imaginative use for a heli-carrier"

Anyone second this? Cool

Loved last week's episode about the Doctor and his new companion travelling to Pompeii on 'volcano day.' Not as jazzed about tonight's entry featuring the Ood. Stoked to witness the return of the Sontarans, next week I believe.

For now, click here for a preview of tonight's episode on SciFi.
