If Washington and his pals were alive today, they'd be gathering the militia and preparing to march on the capital. Those revenuers ought to wear masks, I tell you . . .

For readers outside the 50 states, April 15th is the day Income Taxes are due. I would like to see this deadline amended to sometime in late October. Close proximity to Election Day could only have laudable effects.

Grrrr . . . .

Didn't Ron Paul want to abolish the IRS?
On the British side of things, the Adam Smith Institute calculated that if growth in government spending had increased at the same rate as inflation since 1997, we'd have abolished Income tax, Corporation tax and a few others.

Sale of assets, creeping of tax bands, fuel duties, death duties, auctioning off of assets as yet unrealised (who'd thought of auctioning off bandwidth for 3G technology 15 years ago).
And thats without going into the whole argument of what services government actually should/needs to provide.
As Reagan said, the scariest words you can hear are "I'm from the government, and I'm here to help"
