Rock band the Red Hot Chili Peppers are suing a US network over the name of its TV show, Californication.

I understand that the producers are considering renaming the show 'The Red Show Diaries: The Next Generation.'

I thought you couldn't copyright a title. Sure, you may not want to use the same title as an extremely well known work to avoid confusion.

As it says in the article, I heard the phrase "Don't Californicate Colorado" when I moved here over 15 years ago, long before RHCP recorded the song.
