Had everything in it I wanted, and nothing I could have done without. Heck, I even liked *SPOILERS AHEAD*

the part where Shia went all Tarzan, which made wife groan. Highlights:

-'Big damn ants!'
-'They weren't you, babe.'
-'Oz was never this interesting.'
-'You brought help, Oz.'
-'Quciksand is . . '
-'I like Ike.'
-Howdy-doody time.
-Indy's clever use of that refrigerator.
-The stunning effects shot of the mushroom cloud rising over the desert.
-'Punch Joe College. Hard.'
-'C'mon in, Genius.'
-'If that's what you love to do. . . ,' and how Indy's tone changed when Mutt's parentage (the worst-kept secret in movies) was 'revealed.'
-'Mary . . . there were lots of Marys.'
-'Marion!'
-'Three drops . . . '
-Cate as the best Indy villain yet.
-Broadbent as Marcus Brody's successor.
-The main Russian goon, who I've taken to calling 'Ants-In-Pants.'
-Brody's head strikes!
-'We've reached the point where life starts taking things away rather than giving them.'
-Alan Dale (!) as an Air Force general.
-Triple-negative agent Mac.
-The graveyard fight, especially Indy and the blowgun.
-'Hey, old man!'
-'So, what're you, like 80?'
-Not quite ready for the fedora, Mutt.
-The music, both the score and the choice and matching of period songs.
-Greasers versus college-boys.
-Indy 's advice to the kid in the library.
-The motorcycle chase through campus.
-The explanation of why the Reds grabbed Indy, and Indy spitting it back at the Feds.
-The use of the red scare.
-Indy and Mutt's investigation of Oz's cell in the sanatarium.
-Associate Dean Henry Jones, Jr.
-John Hurt as Oz. Great casting there, maybe the best new face in the movie.
-Can you believe how Karen Allen has held up?
-A wedding during which it was okay to shed a tear or two of joy.

I could go on. That's just off the top of my head. I just wish they'd gone into why those Red devils were such 'bad' guys. Also, I maybe would have showed less when it came to the aliens.

Almost forgot: I overheard an enthusiastic little boy announce to his parents after the movie that he wanted to be an archeologist when he grows up. Wow.

Thoughts?

Wasn't happy about the Aliens and Portal to the other dimension, but the rest was brilliant. That reminds me, I have to do a full review yet....

I agree that Indy was everything that I wanted. The witty lines were great, as usual. Nice touch at the end when Indy says "I have a bad feeling about this". I cringed and had to shut my eyes during the tarzan scene!! That was very odd and didn't seem to fit into that part of the movie.
Other than that I was entertained. I really liked all of the silhouettes they used of Indy especially the first one! I got chills when Indy put his hat on and the silhouete was behind him- great shot!
So, since Shia didn't get to wear the fedora, does that mean we'll see Harrison Ford in another Indy movie soon? Apparently he's not ready to hand the torch over to his son quite yet.
What's the buzz on that?[/b]
